Christian turns 3

The birthday boy and his favorite breakfast: eggs and chocolate milk!

I can't believe he's 3. We had such a wonderful time celebrating Chun's birthday. For weeks we have been telling him his birthday was coming and yesterday we kept reminding him that tomorrow would be the special day. When he woke up in the morning Madison wished him a happy birthday and his comeback was, "my birthday is tomorrow." The more she told him the more he argued it was tomorrow. It was quite funny.

He had two birthday wishes. He's been asking since February (aka Madison's b-day) to get a monkey from build-a-bear and he requested a dinosaur cake. Simple enough!

The day started off with Ellie coming to play. The two of them have so much fun together. Then grandma & grandpa Mac came over to celebrate with presents and hugs. He was so excited to see them and get presents. Courtney was also excited for the presents, she even began opening them herself (apparently Christian wasn't fast enough). They gave him an adorable Sunday outfit (thank you, thank you) and some fabulous noisy toys, a CAT dump truck and some stompers. After their visit I took the kids to McDonald's with grandma Weir. The kids were pretty tired so it didn't last long but they had a good time.

After the little ones took a nap and the girls came home from school Mitch surprised us by coming home early from work. We gathered the kids and headed to BABW. We got to the store and before we could do anything Chun had run up the isle looking for the monkey bin, grabbed one and was at the stuffing station even before anyone could say welcome the BABW. The lady gave him a special birthday sticker and went through the cute process of stuffing the bear, giving it a hug and a heart. Christian did what she said and then the girls coaxed him into giving his monkey a bath. After that he turned to Mitch and I and said all done. We told him he could pick some clothing for his monkey but he refused. After a lot of pressure to pick something he ended up with a batman costume (not my first choice but he seems to like it). He named his monkey Andy and was out of there. We did the whole thing in less then 30 min. It was so funny how fast he was, the girls took forever to decide when we took them to BABW. Since we had so much time we decided to get some dinner. He picked pasta so we hit the California Pizza Kitchen. The kids were great, the food was delicious and Chun even got a fabulous birthday desert.
The Cake!

Then it was back home to make the dinosaur cake and open presents. Grandma & grandpa Weir joined us for presents and cake. Chun got a cute "exercise" outfit and a truck. Boy toys are so fun! The family also gave him a light saber. He was one happy boy, couldn't go to sleep until after 11:00. Happy birthday and sweet dreams Chun Chun!!
